NOVEMBER INFLATION RELEASE & HUMAN DEVELOPMENT INDEX OKI 2024

On December 3, 2024, the BPS of OKI Regency attended a meeting with the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) which was attended by the Acting Regent, Assistants, Expert Staff of the Regent, Heads of OPDs and members of the TPID of OKI Regency. On this occasion, the BPS of OKI Regency delivered the release of the November 2024 inflation figures.

The Head of the BPS of OKI Regency, Mrs. Anugrahani Prasetyowati, S.ST., M.Si said that in November 2024, OKI Regency experienced monthly inflation (m-to-m) of 0.92 percent and year-on-year inflation (y-o-y) of 0.31 percent. Meanwhile, calendar year inflation (y-to-d) in November 2024 was 0.77 percent.

In m-to-m inflation, the highest price increase occurred in the food, beverages & tobacco group, contributing 0.90% to inflation.

Commodities that contributed the most to inflation included shallots, tomatoes, live chicken, cooking oil, and rice with side dishes. Meanwhile, commodities contributing to deflation included cayenne pepper, long beans, red chilies, spinach and eggplant.

In addition to the inflation figure, the release of the OKI Regency Human Development Index (HDI) figure for 2024 was also announced with a value of 71.48 points and was in the high category. The 2024 HDI figure has increased compared to the 2023 HDI figure of 70.80 points with a growth of 0.96 percent.

The value per component of the 2024 Human Development Index consists of:

* Life Expectancy (UHH) of 74.23 years

* Average Length of Schooling (RLS) of 7.19 years

* Expected Length of Schooling (HLS) of 11.98 years

* Real Expenditure Per Capita of 12.3 million per year

Several suggestions and policy recommendations were also conveyed during the release, with the hope of accelerating the growth of the value of each component, especially those related to the dimensions of knowledge and the dimensions of longevity & healthy living.
