Abstract

The export value of South Sumatra Province in
June 2020 was US $ 294.75 million, an increase of 19.95 percent compared to the
export value in June 2020 which was US $ 245.72 million. Exports in July 2020
were mostly aimed at China at US $ 135.19 million (45.87 percent), Malaysia at
US $ 34.97 million (11.87 percent) and South Korea at US $ 25.03 million ( 8.49
percent).

The five main export commodities from South
Sumatra Province which were the largest in July 2020 were pulp / pulp valued at
US $ 98.83 million (33.53 percent); rubber worth US $ 90.62 million (30.74
percent); coal worth US $ 46.75 million (15.86 percent); oil output US $ 22.07
million (7.49); and tissue paper US $ 11.26 million (3.82 percent).

The export value of South Sumatra Province for
the January - July 2020 period was US $ 1,976.20 million, down 18.78 percent
compared to the export value for the January - July 2019 period which amounted
to US $ 2,433.11 million.

The import value of South Sumatra in July 2020
was US $ 62.49 million or an increase of 19.12 percent compared to June 2020
which was US $ 52.46 million. Most of the imports came from China amounting to
US $ 41.68 million (66.70 percent), Singapore US $ 4.66 million (7.45 percent)
and Germany US $ 2.63 million (4.21 percent).

Imports of South Sumatra Province for the
January - July 2020 period were US $ 374.52 million, an increase of 22.38
percent compared to the import value for the January - July 2019 period which
amounted to US $ 306.04 million.

The types of goods imported with the greatest
value in June 2020 were machinery / aircraft mechanics amounting to US $ 40.54
million (64.87 percent), fertilizers US $ 5.80 (9.28 percent), and locomotives
and equipment train amounting to US $ 2.51 million (4.02 percent).

Total foreign trade in South Sumatra in July
2020 was a surplus of US $ 232.26 million
