OGAN KOMERING ILIR REGENCY INFLATION RELEASE DECEMBER 2024

The Regional Government of Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) Regency, together with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), held a routine meeting in early January 2025 to discuss regional inflation and economic growth. During the meeting, BPS reported that the year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate for December 2024 reached 1.48 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 108.80. This inflation was driven by price increases in several expenditure groups, such as housing, water, electricity, and household fuel (5.81 percent), as well as personal care and other services (11.83 percent). However, there was deflation in the food, beverage, and tobacco group (-0.65 percent).

In addition to inflation, BPS presented economic growth data for OKI Regency based on the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). In Q3 2024, the GRDP at current prices was recorded at IDR 12.36 trillion, while the GRDP at constant 2010 prices stood at IDR 7.26 trillion. The economy of OKI Regency in Q3 2024 grew by 5.98 percent year-on-year (y-on-y), 4.32 percent quarter-to-quarter (q-to-q), and 5.70 percent cumulative-to-cumulative (c-to-c), reflecting positive regional economic performance.

The meeting concluded with a discussion on strategic measures to maintain price stability and accelerate economic growth in the coming year. The OKI Government and BPS agreed to continue strengthening synergy in monitoring inflation and economic growth to support community welfare and regional economic stability.
